Shoot and Run?

Ismaaiyl spotted the police car. He ran towards it with a gun in his hand, loaded and ready to shoot. He ran and shot them in the head. Oh no... what have I done? I can't go to jail..He thought. He ran inside the subway. He pulled the gun up to his head...and....boom. He fell on the floor in a subway filled with people.
Today in Brooklyn, a 28 year old man identified as Ismaaiyl Brinsley ran up to a patrol car where there were two police from the NYPD, shot them in the head, ran to the nearest subway and shot himself. Why would he do that? Did he have anything against the NYPD? Did he have a past job there that didn't go so well? Did the NYPD do something to him?

Diablo Canyon say,"WHAT?!!!!!"

PG & E's Diablo Canyon has been changing the cooling system, increasing the ocean water temperature since November 2nd, 2013. This is NOT a good thing. Diablo Canyon is using 2.5 billion gallons of sea water and there are 1.5 billion fish larvae that were sucked into the warm water and most DO NOT survive. This can be a huge problem in the food chain. Most of the food chain lives eating off of fish. Fish is food for a lot of animals that will start to die. This is a $12 billion experiment. Is it really worth helping Diablo Canyon? Is it fair killing all of these fish? What will the future end up like with not much fish? Will prices go up on fish? Will the animals that consume fish learn to feed off of something else? What effect will changing the ocean by a couple of degrees have on the local community and economy for the long term?

Music, Music, Music!!!!!!!!!

Hey, are you going to be there? Huh? Are you? You may not even know what I'm talking about. Our very own Los Osos Middle School Band has decided that it is time to show the rest of the world the musicians' great evolution. Next Wednesday, December 17th, is the LOMS Winter Band Concert at the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly. The performance starts at 7:00p.m.

About two hundred and fifty student from sixth grade to high school will be playing their woodwinds, brass, and percussion to produce amazing effects that you and your family will enjoy. Your friends including Hattie, Ellena, Lacey, Leif, Brayden, Aidan, Camille, Ian, Cayla, Julia, Mattlend, Gavin, Mattland, Alexis, and many more will be in the band performing. The eighth grade band will present after the High School band, followed by the seventh grade and sixth grade bands.

Some of the melodious songs include: "A Day in a Life", "Prelude and Firestorm,"Zia" and "Ghosts of the Lost Ship." Each piece has its own unique sound and tempo. You can picture different images, if you listen closely. "A Day in a Life" represents someone driving through traffic in a busy city, like Los Angeles or Boston, and the rest of the song progresses based on what happens on the way through traffic. "Prelude and Firestorm" initially represents a peaceful and happy time. Then random people creating firestorms in houses and making the whole scene disturbing, but exciting, at the same time. "Zia" is a calm and peaceful song about a man or woman sitting on a hill, under a tree, playing a wooden flute near the Zia Pueblo Indian tribes and you can hear them celebrating with music, maracas, and tribal drums."Ghosts of the Lost Ship" is a song that tells a story of ghosts and pirates that still haunt the seas.

Woah! New rule?!!!!

Los Osos Middle School's librarian has given a new rule in the library on December 2nd, 2014. Only 65 people are allowed in the library at lunch and you have to sign in before nutrition ends to be able to access the library. The librarian says," I got a complaint from a parent that their child had not gotten their work done in the library because of all the noise and amount of people." So she decided to take this problem into her own hands and set up this rule.
